A 10-day juice-cleanse illustrated book

My name is Uma and I love to tell stories!
Even though I never thought of myself as an illustrator, there is a clear propensity to develop a new talent when you go on a spiritual retreat.
For example, during my very first yoga retreat six years ago, I learned that I could sing in front of other people. Back then, it really came as a surprise because I always considered myself to be a shy person and my voice would shake whenever I was nervous and had to address a group of three or more people. I have since joined a choir and I have become a teacher of yoga and languages. Those things happen!
Last month, I did a 10-day juice cleanse, which is really a powerful body-mind-spirit cleanser and, once again, a skill presented itself to me in the most unexpected way: while journaling my feelings and emotions, I felt inspired to draw the different steps of my cleanse program.
As clarity and creativity settled in, letting go of the usual stuff (that I would call “mental clutter”), the desire to draw emerged and the drawings themselves got lighter, following the spur of the moment.
I usually tell stories with words, yet, this time, I will let the illustrations do the talking.
I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!

Day 10 “Back to Eating. The Startled Turtle!” I was happy and so light during the juice feast. Regular food seems overwhelming. You get back to it gradually.

Day 11 “Epilogue” The Green Lemonade (Longevity Foods) was my favorite evening meal during the juice feast. I think that everybody should have a “go-to” healthy meal to counterbalance all the “go-to” heavy meals that we usually get when it becomes emotionally challenging. I found mine. What is yours?

Epilogue: The Green Lemonade (from Longevity Foods) was my favorite evening meal during the juice feast. It has become my “go-to” healthy meal when I need/want one.
